EquipmentThis is the appropriate set-up. Procedure1. Confirm that the recorder strip is inserted into the timer bridge with the metallic layer up. The strip should lie smoothly on the bench and not twisted. Hold the trolley in the starting position. 2. The recorder pin should be placed in the first hole on the bridge and moved between runs to the second and third.
3. Mark the beginning position on the recorder strip beside the pin. 4. Confirm that the marking frequency is 10 Hz (10 marks per 1 second). Switch on the recorder. 5. Release the trolley. 6. Switch off the recorder when the trolley has stopped. Play this demo before trying it yourself!! 7. Repeat the run two more times. Move the recorder pin to the next position before pushing the trolley. Select the best run which has evenly spaced markings. 8. Measure the distance the trolley traveled from the start to each 0.1 second mark. 9. Enter your data on the Acceleration Data Collection Worksheet. 10. Print and complete the Lab Homework:
