Instructor since January 2004This three-credit course presents basic concepts in ultrasound physics such as: ultrasound instrumentation, sound wave concepts, characteristics of sound propagating media, beam patterns, beam and image artifact, Doppler effect, system performance testing, and bio-effects and safety. This course is designed to prepare the Diagnostic Medical Sonography students for a Clinical Internship with emphasis on certification/registration examination preparation.
